Holy Cross is under the care of the Franciscan Custody of The Holy Land. The Franciscan Friary is within the same grounds as the Parish church and the Apostolic Nunciature. The Franciscans who serve the Parish live here.
The whole property was remodelled before the visit of His Holiness, Benedict XVI (June 2010). It is a beautiful and comfortable place with a lovely garden and facilities for the apostolic ministry to the Latin Community of Nicosia and the surrounding area.
Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual help of Sri Lanka
“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”(Lk.4,18)
The Congregation of the Perpetual Help sisters originated in Belgium during the time of French revolution. It was a time of crisis in the whole of Europe. Johanna Francisca Maximilliana Armalinck, being a lay woman fashioned by the world of her times, wanted to respond to the signs of the times. She was also a member of the third order of Francis. From St. Francis she learnt how to be poor though rich.
Her concern were the poor masses especially the youth and women. She started to reach out to them in her own simple way, later gathering twelve persons around her to continue the work she began for the youth and the elders. She adopted also the spirituality of Vincent de Paul as it gave her insight to reach out to the poor and the needy.
We the daughters of Armalinck, now known as Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, try to draw inspiration from her way of life. We try to live a simple way of life, trusting in Divine providence after the example of our foundress. Our spirituality is also influenced by the Franciscan spirituality.
The person of Jesus Christ is the source and model of our religious life. Through the
vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience we make a total gift to God because in God we find fullness of love, Fullness of security, fullness of freedom. We live in community binding ourselves with sisterly love and carry out our mission in and through Community.

Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition
The Sisters of St. Joseph are present throughout the world in five continents. The foundation of the congregation dates back to 1832. The mission of our foundress, St. Emilie de Vialar, is carried out in a great variety of ministries according to the particular needs of each location.
The Gospel passage (Matthew 1, 8-23) which shows the essential role of Joseph in the Incarnation is the source of the founding intuition of Emilie de Vialar. It shows clearly that without Joseph’s acceptance of his role as the earthly father of Jesus, the Incarnation would have been incomplete.
The mission of the sisters is: to be at the heart of the world, to live and incarnate the saving love of the Father; to work towards the growth and fulfilment of all men and women; by their lives to witness to the infinite tenderness of the Father. St. Emilie always told her sister ‘Go, and with what you have and will receive, do all the good you can.’
The sisters have been present in Cyprus since 1844. At present there are four sisters serving the community in Nicosia and four in Larnaca.
