It will be to the Catholic Maronite village of Kormakitis and the Holy Door opened for the Jubilee Year of Mercy in the old church of St George.

The Lenten Pilgrimage this year will focus on the Jubilee Year of Mercy proclaimed by the Pope Francis and the preaching will call us to enter with all our being into the Jubilee Year, to experience it intimately, personally and taste deeply the abundant mercy of the Lord for our own lives.

We will have the opportunity of personal confession, of celebrating the Holy Eucharist and of making the Way of the Cross together, praying and entering each one of us individually through the Holy Door opened for the Jubilee Year in the old church of St George in Kormakitis, in a spirit of deep faith, thus receiving all the graces promised for our lives, for us and our loved ones.Old St George Kormakitis

We will also have the chance to travel along one of most beautiful routes of the island, along the North coast of Cyprus in the Kyrenia district, stopping at a few places of particular significance too along the way.

The cost will be 10 euro per person, names to be registered with the payment to reserve the place on the coach, by 25 March 2016 at the latest, in the relevant list in the sacristy – note that for the checkpoint you need to have a valid passport/ID and a valid (not expired) residence permit in the Republic of Cyprus.

We will set off from Holy Cross at 8.30am and be back by about 6pm. As on previous pilgrimages, we will have picnic lunch and we invite you to bring with you food and drinks to share with the other pilgrims.

We encourage you not to delay to register, in order to ensure you reserve your place on the coach.
