20 NOVEMBER 2013 – THE PRESENTATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The Oriental Churches have celebrated this feast since the 4th century. According to the “Gospel of James”, Mary still young, was presented by her parents in the Temple of Jerusalem, and was consecrated to God.
24 NOVEMBER 2013 – CHRIST THE KING The Liturgical Year “C” and our meditation on the Gospel according to Saint Luke conclude with the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. On 1 December we will then begin a New Year in the Liturgy of the Church with the first Sunday of the season of Advent, the preparation for the coming of the Lord Jesus.
30 NOVEMBER 2013 – SAINT ANDREW Saint Andrew, like his brother Simon Peter was from Bethsaida, a town not far from Caparnaum. He presented his brother to the Lord. The feast of St. Andrew is the feast day of our two Franciscan brothers, Fr. Andrew Verdote who is staying at Holy Cross and is taking care of Terra Santa College and Fr. Andrew Arhin who is now in Limassol. To both of them and to all who celebrate this feast day: HAPPY FEAST DAY!!!
