Angels Christmas

The Parish Council met on Saturday, 21 December 2013. The members were asked to come to the meeting well prepared with concrete proposals especially concerning the Annual Plan for the next year, the movies to be shown in the Movie Nights for the coming months and the Holy Cross website which needs to be kept always updated.  The Agenda also included the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, discussion on various matters arising and the presentation of the 2014 Holy Cross Calendar as published.

Regarding the Annual Plan for the next year various proposals were made which will be discussed further in January.  These included the introduction of a series on the Sacraments of the Catholic Church, the introduction of a Parish lunch event, suggestions for our better preparation during Lent and Advent, for various ministries and the more active involvement of parishioners, meetings for the youth, a pilgrimage to Rome for the canonization of the Blessed John Paul II as well as the live broadcast of the event at Holy Cross and further work on the Parish Register,

For the Holy Cross website different members proposed various updates which need to be made and the Executive Members of the Parish Council will be meeting in January to take this work forward.

Concerning the Movie Nights proposals were made by different members for appropriate movies and a list was made of the best movies to be shown in the months ahead. For January, the Movie Night will be on Friday, 3 January 2014, after the evening mass, to start at 7.30pm, with a movie, in the spirit of this festive season, entitled “The Fourth Wise Man”.

Finally, we pray that as we go ahead into the New Year 2014, the Lord, the Saviour, who was born to be with us, to give His life in order to destroy our death and give us Eternal Life, may accompany us every step of the way.  May He bless our Parish, our priests and all God’s people, His Church, abundantly, always!

Akis HjiIossif (Chairman)
