The Most Reverend Father Francesco Patton, Custos of the Holy Land, with all the Franciscan Friars of the Custody of the Holy Land, sends the deepest sympathy to the whole Cypriot community and to the local Church for the loss today of His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Cyprus.

The Custody of the Holy Land with gratitude recognises all the good works of the late Archbishop towards the Catholic Church and the Franciscan communities in Cyprus.

We remain united in prayer for the whole nation and for the Church in Cyprus awaiting the resurrection of his soul to the eternal life.
