PARISH COUNCIL NEWS & MESSAGES – MARCH 2022
The Holy Cross Parish Council met at the Holy Cross on 4 March 2022 and discussed various issues including the Questionnaire for the next Synod which was issued with a letter from our Patriarch, the latest protective measures imposed by the authorities, the Holy Cross Parish Newsletter, the children’s catechesis and weekly family mass and the Lenten season which is starting next week.
It was decided for the Lenten Day of Recollection with a Penitential giving the opportunity for confession, to take place on Sunday 27th March 2022, at 12 noon and it will also be transmitted live on the YouTube Channel of the Holy Cross.
About the Questionnaire issued for the next Synod everyone can complete it and submit it online and full details and links are given on the Holy Cross Website at www.holy-cross-nicosia.com and the Holy Cross Smartphone application for Android. Nevertheless, it was decided, in order to encourage and help parishioners further to complete the Questionnaire, to hand out to those who want after the Sunday masses, of the first Sunday of March, also hard copies of the Questionnaire to complete and submit.
Regarding the Holy Cross Smartphone application for Android, it was decided to encourage everyone to install it on their own smartphone and for all of us to distribute the application file to each other to be installed. If you do not have the application on you smartphone yet, please ask any member of the Parish Council to get it, or you can download it from the Holy Cross website where it will also be uploaded.
With respect to the above and also in relation to the pandemic measures decided to apply from 8 March 2022 and which we need to observe, appropriate announcements will be made too.
About the children’s catechesis and the weekly family mass, it was decided after some discussion, that the issues would be dealt with in due course, after the First Holy Communion of the children this year.
We pray for the Risen Lord to help us and bless us in a special way this Lent, each one of us in our Parish and to support our priests, religious and each one of us, to best serve Him every day. May He grant each one of us His supernatural light and strength as we trust in His limitless mercy, to experience strongly His presence, power and love in our own lives and in our Parish every day!
