PARISH COUNCIL NEWS & MESSAGES – JULY 2022
The Parish Council met on 6 July 2022 mainly to discuss the organisation of an event to mark the Feast of our Parish of the Holy Cross in September as well as some other issues which were raised by members.
Regarding the Feast of the Holy Cross, it was decided that instead of having a disco night with catering to celebrate on the Saturday evening after the mass (like we did before the pandemic in 2019), we will have this time an event which was proposed to be organised on the Sunday, 11 September 2022, starting at 12.30pm featuring a Parish Lunch and Entertainment. An announcement with details will follow in due course.
For the entertainment there will be a programme of 5 minute presentations (and for the lunch the food will be provided also) by the many different parish groups, communities and parishioners who would like to offer and are welcome to contribute in this respect, to share with everyone else in this celebratory event.
Those who would like to contribute on this occasion, to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross, with the lunch and the entertainment proposed to be organised on Sunday 11 September 2022 from 12.30pm, would be asked in due course to fill the appropriate form which would be in the Sacristy of the Holy Cross – one form for the food to be offered and another form for the presentation to be performed.
It was noted also that the plans of the Parish Council for the Parish Lunch and Entertainment on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Cross proposed to be organised on 11 September 2022 at 12.30pm, would of course be subject to any pandemic restrictions and regulations which may be introduced and apply on the specific date, an issue which needs be reviewed nearer to the date of the event.
The Parish Council also discussed briefly the enrichment of our website of the Holy Cross with more standing information which would be helpful and planned to work on this issue in the Autumn.
It was also mentioned that the Holy Cross YouTube channel sound strength during live broadcasts of the liturgies, which has been weak more recently, needs to be improved the soonest.
Finally it was decided for the next meeting of the Parish Council to take place on 2 September 2022 to deal with the Lunch and Entertainment planned on the occasion of the Holy Cross Feast.
We pray that the Lord may bless each one of us in our Parish and that we may trust Him above all else in our lives and experience the power of His mercy acting in us and around us always.
